Computing Plus

The Computing+ course develops students’ computational thinking skills, a problem-solving process that involves analysis, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic design. Students learn to break complex problems down systematically and design efficient solutions through programming and software development. These skills empower students to approach unfamiliar and open-ended challenges with confidence, creativity and logical reasoning, while also enabling them to apply computing concepts across disciplines and authentic real-world contexts.
What distinguishes SST’s offering is the introduction of specialised “plus” modules that deepen students’ exposure to emerging technological domains. Students explore Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking, learning how digital systems are protected against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Through hands-on experiences, students develop an appreciation for responsible cybersecurity practices, cyber wellness and the ethical responsibilities involved in safeguarding digital systems and data in an increasingly connected world.
Students are also introduced to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, where they discover how intelligent systems learn from data to make predictions, automate decisions and solve complex problems. In addition, students explore Computer Vision, learning how computers process and interpret visual information through technologies such as image recognition, object detection and intelligent visual systems. These experiences allow students to better understand the technologies behind applications such as autonomous systems, smart assistants and AI-powered solutions that increasingly shape everyday life.
Through these advanced modules, Computing+ provides students with a strong foundation for future studies and careers in computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science and emerging technologies. More importantly, the course nurtures thoughtful and ethical innovators who can harness technology purposefully, creatively, and responsibly to create meaningful impact in the world of tomorrow.
