DSA Selection Criteria
TALENT AREA | CRITERIA |
Science, Technology, Engineering, Aesthetics and Mathematics (STEAM) |
Academic and Cognitive Abilities
Applicants are assessed on both academic achievements and cognitive abilities based on academic track records and other accomplishments, as well as the outcome of the SST Direct School Admission (DSA) selection tests. Aptitude for Applied Learning SST aims to engage our students through Applied Learning approaches. Shortlisted candidates will thus have to participate in a selection activity and be assessed for their suitability to work and learn in the fast-paced and rigorous environment of the school. Interests and Motivation Candidates’ proclivity and passion for areas related to STEAM may be gauged through their school and non-school involvement. |
Applicants who do not have prior experience may also apply. The school will assess applicants based on the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants.
Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted/given an offer. Due to different profiles of applicants, selection/shortlisting trends may differ year on year.
Important Notice on DSA-Sec Selection Process
We would like to clarify that all applications under the Direct School Admission – Secondary (DSA-Sec) exercise are assessed solely based on our internal selection criteria and processes.
We do not consider or accept any recommendations from external individuals or organisations in support of an applicant. Any such claim is untrue.
Shortlisting and selection decisions are made independently by the school and are based strictly on the merit of the application, performance in the selection tasks, and alignment with the school’s talent areas.
