Education and Career Guidance
We believe that career education, an integral SST Character and Citizenship Education Programme, is important to human capability building in the 21st century. The contribution of career education to building human capability involves developing the competencies that will enable meaning or direction in life; it is not merely a job but the life roles played by an individual. SST students plan and self-manage their careers in a life-long process, as an extension of talent development.

School Parent Meeting
From 2019, the school adopted a new approach where our students were the ones leading the Parent-Teacher Conference. As a school that aims to nurture independent learners and problem solvers, we value and seek to inculcate self-management skills, ownership and resilience in our students.
The Secondary 4 Discover Programme is a unique out-of-classroom experience that will help our students uncover their strengths and interests. Each experience is specifically catered to students’ individual talents helps gain an insight into what the future holds for them in terms of career pathways.
Students undergo learning experiences at universities such as SST-NTU Applied Sciences Camp at the School of Material Science & Engineering and School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, as well as the SST-SUTD Big-D Camp. They are tasked to work on challenges under the tutelage of professors and students from these schools. There are also learning journeys with SST’s industry partner such as Esco Aster, BCA, Synergix Tech, 3M Customer Technical Care, CAAS – Singapore Youth Flying Club, A*STAR FusionWorld, Phillips, Oddle & 42 Race and Singtel Cyber Security Centre.
There was also a parents engagement session, which comprised a sharing by the students on their experience and a round-up by the Principal.
