Year 1 Admission
SST admits all our Secondary 1 students into the Express Stream through the MOE Direct School Admission Secondary (MOE DSA-Sec) exercise; it does not participate in the MOE Secondary One Posting Exercise. Student applicants who are successfully posted through the DSA-Sec exercise will not participate in the MOE Secondary One Posting Exercise.
Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop their area of talent.

SST Phase 1 Written Test
The SST Phase 1 written test assesses students’ ability to solve real world problems through the application of STEM knowledge and skills. All applicants will be informed on the date and timing to sit for the SST Phase 1 Written Test by 21 June via email.
More details regarding the SST phase 1 written test will be released after May.
SST Selection Camp
Only shortlisted candidates will be informed and invited to participate in the Selection Camp in Phase 2 of the application process to SST.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email from:
22 July onwards to attend the selection camp on the 27 July
29 July onwards to attend the selection camp on the 3 August
The Selection Camp, which takes place on July and August 2019, is a half-day event where students will be assessed on their suitability to benefit from the learning environment of SST. Shortlisted candidates are only required to attend one of the sessions.
Release of DSA-Sec Application Outcome
A Letter of Outcome will be issued (via email) to all applicants at the end of the DSA-Sec Exercise. Successful applicants subsequently posted to SST through the DSA-Sec Exercise are expected to honour their commitments made and will be excluded from participating in the MOE Secondary 1 Posting Exercise. Students posted through the DSA-Sec Exercise are also not permitted to transfer to another school after the release of the PSLE results.
Parents are strongly encouraged not to call the school to check on the outcome of their child’s DSA Application.
Local applicants must be currently studying in mainstream primary schools and will be taking their PSLE this year. Non-local applicants must be currently in or have completed Primary Six or equivalent education. Also, all applicants should not be older than 15 years of age as of 1 Jan 2020.
Applicants who do not study in mainstream primary school in Singapore are required to obtain a Registration Number (REG) from MOE Customer Service Centre before applying for SST DSA-Sec Exercise.

Year 3 Admission
SST Year 3 Admission is open to exceptionally capable and talented Secondary 2 students who will excel in the fast-paced environment of SST, subjected to vacancies. Students who are successful in their application will join SST as Secondary 3 students in the following academic year.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must be currently studying at Secondary 2 level in mainstream secondary schools.
How much does it cost?
There is no application fee.
When to apply?
The application period for SST Secondary 3 Admission Exercise (2019 Intake) is from 27 May 2019, 9.00 a.m. to 14 June 2019, 5.00 p.m.
How to apply?
Step 1: Year 3 Admission Application (27 May to 14 June 2019):
Applicants are to download the application form (Download application form here) and submit the following supporting (photocopied) documents in person at the School of Science and Technology, General Office.
- Applicant’s Student Pass/Birth Certificate;
- PSLE result slip or equivalent;
- Sec 1 and 2 overall result slips or equivalent;
- Certificates of achievements (from 2018-2019 only);
Step 2: Placement Test (20 to 21 June 2019):
Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted to sit for the following written tests:
Students who have performed well in the placement test will be invited for an interview on 15 July 2019.
When is the result released?
All applicants will receive a final outcome of application via email by 26 July 2019.
