The SST Scout CCA was inaugurated on 14 February 2014, with the pioneer batch comprising of 15 energetic Secondary 1 and 2 students (scout cadets) who are committed to the principles on which Scouting was formed. These principles emphasise a person’s active and constructive commitment to the spiritual values of life, to society and to oneself.
Aims of Scouting Programme
The scouting programme in SST is an outdoor education programme that focuses on the holistic development of the scout cadets in the various physical, mental, spiritual and social domains, with a strong emphasis on duty to God, duty to country, and helping other people. The programme also aims to be relevant, non-discriminatory, partnership-based and is complementary to other forms of education.
To be a leading air scout unit in aviation and outdoor education programme.
To nurture active scout cadets who learn by doing and benefit others through service.
The SST Scout unit is named the Fearless Falcons, in recognition of the unit’s ability to be extremely focused yet adaptable and powerful yet graceful. It is hoped that through the fun-filled and exciting scouting activities, cadets can discover, learn and put into practice essential life skills through serving others and learning by doing, thereby living up to the Singapore Scouting motto of “Be Prepared!” in all contexts of life.
