Robotics Achievements in November 2011

In November 2011, our Robotics Club clinched several awards at the Asia Pacific Robotics Competition (Taiwan) and FIRST Tech Challenge Singapore.

They emerged 16th and 17th out of 72 in the Asia Pacific Robotics Competition and were also awarded the Energy Award, which is presented to the team for exhibiting teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the competition.

At the FIRST Tech Challenge Singapore, our teams competed against 33 teams from 19 educational institutions and emerged as the Winning Alliance and Finalist Alliance. Our students, who were among the youngest in the competition, were also awarded the Motivate Award for exhibiting great teamwork, enthusiasm and community outreach.

We would like to thank Mr Soh Wee Peng and Ms Audrey Tan for their constant support and guidance to the participating teams. Once again, congratulations to all who participated and we wish you all the best in future competitions!

Singapore Weiqi Tourney 2011

On 20 November 2011, Tay Zhi An (S108) participated in 4th Weiqi Tourney and clinched the Gold Medal. The event was organised by the Singapore Weiqi Association and was held at Toa Payoh East Community Centre.

We would like to congratulate him for his expertise and brilliant skills as we look forward to more of his achievements in 2012!

National Business Pitch Challenge 2011

On 17 November 2011, some students participated in the National Business Pitch Challenge organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Business and Accountancy in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2011.

One of our teams clinched the 3rd Prize, while the other was awarded a Merit. Through this challenge, our students have learned how to develop innovative business ideas and present them effectively through social media.
