From 31 May- 2 June, participants from various primary schools across the nation took part in the SunburST Make-A-Thon@SST 2017. Supported by Singapore Technologies Endowment Programme (STEP), the STEAM-centric competition serves as a platform for the brightest young minds in the country to meet and showcase their innovative spirit and entrepreneurial mindset to transform ideas into feasible tangible products. Through learning journeys and training sessions from organisations like 3D-Printing-Hub.Asia, Greenpac Singapore Pte Ltd, Home-Fix Singapore, SaberMach, PestBusters Singapore, Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Junior Achievement Singapore, the budding passionate innovators applied the design thinking framework in their ideation and prototypes. They pitched their ideas in teams consisting of a leader, designer, maker, coder and marketer.
The winners of the competition are:
Team Nanyang Primary School (A): 1st Prize and Best Marketer Award
Team Kong Hwa School: 2nd Prize and Most Innovative Award
Team Nanyang Primary School (B): 3rd Prize
