Introduced in 1978, the Singapore Youth Science Festival (SYSF is a national event jointly organised by Science Centre Singapore, the Science Teachers’ Association of Singapore and the Shell Companies in Singapore. Participated by over 100,000 students (across Primary, Secondary and Pre-University levels) and educators participating annually, the event aims to provide young scientists an opportunity to discuss scientific problems and the implications of science on society, amongst others.

These projects are good examples of how our students have integrated their learnings in science and research to construct knowledge, with creativity and presentation skills to articulate their viewpoints. We would like to congratulate our student participants for their commendable efforts and look forward to sharing more of their achievements in the area of science and technology.

Eat with Your Family Day 2012

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As part of the National Family Celebrations 2012, Centre for Fathering will be organising a nationwide “Eat with Your Family Day” on Friday, 25 May 2012.  This event is to encourage all Singaporeans to consciously set aside time on that day to be with their families. Done through the simple ritual of having a family meal, we hope the event will serve as a reminder to families to encourage them to eat together regularly.

In support of this initiative, all CCA activities will stop at 5.00 p.m. on that day to encourage families to eat together.

Thank you.

Warmest regards,
