Sing the NDP Songs Competition 2011

On 26th July 2011, The School of Science & Technology (SST) Show Choir participated in the Sing the NDP Songs Competition 2011 jointly organized by the National Day Parade 2011 Executive Committee (NDP 11 EXCO) and Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) and was awarded the 2nd Prize in recognition of the team’s outstanding performance in this competition (category B aged 13 – 18yrs).

This competition provides a platform for Singaporeans to express their sense of nationhood and identity by singing and performing the NDP Songs. The competition was held at the Singapore Discovery Centre iWERKS theatre on 26th July 2011, with a panel of prestigious judges comprising of:

  • COL Alvin Kek Yoke Boon, Chairman, Executive Committee NDP11
  • MS Michelle Chan, Senior Manager, Education
  • MS Beatrice Chia-Richmond, Creative Director NDP 11
  • MR Goh Kheng Long, Music Director NDP 11

The SST Show Choir was recently formed by Ms Patricia Ng and the ensemble had their first rehearsal on 7th July this year. Even though the SST Show Choir is not an official CCA in the school, the students have a passion for this genre of performance and have taken time out of their schedules to put together an energetic and creative version of  ‘Where I Belong’ for the competition.
